All Diesel-powered vehicles with a GVWR 18,000 lbs and over are required to be inspected for both emissions which is the state inspection and a DOT which is the federal inspection. All vehicles with A GVWR of 10,001 and above only need a DOT inspection that goes for trailers as well and also as a combined weight truck and trailer they are required to get the DOT and also comply with all DOT regulations.
